I\u2019ve been thinking over the past several months about a potential theme for the next season of my podcast The Weight of Glory<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2021, I launched the first full season on the theme of hope<\/a><\/strong>. My long-time friend Kale Zelden<\/a> discussed with me what hope looked like in the wake of the pandemic and the battered state of the post-conciliar Church<\/a>. We then engaged in a very close reading of Pope Benedict XVI\u2019s encylical letter on hope<\/a>: Spe Salvi<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2022-2023, I invited Kale back for season two on the theme of humanity<\/a><\/strong>. We took a close look at The Abolition of Man<\/a><\/em>, a series of three brilliant and prophetic lectures delivered by C.S. Lewis in 1943.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019ve decided this week that season three of the podcast ought to focus on the theme of friendship<\/a><\/strong>. I will begin by reading the college paper I wrote on the topic<\/a>, and then I hope to engage in a close reading of The Four Loves<\/a><\/em> by C.S. Lewis. Maybe I can coax Kale back for season three.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
