In addition to several work deadlines in my life as a web developer, I&#8217;ve been preparing for a new endeavor. Beginning on January 15, and running through the end of May, I will be presenting a weekly seminar on John Paul II&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theologyofthebody.net\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Theology of the Body<\/strong><\/a> at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.familytheater.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Family Theater<\/strong><\/a> in Hollywood. We&#8217;ll be using a couple of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.christopherwest.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>texts from Christopher West<\/strong><\/a>, which I will supplement with passages from Sacred Scripture, the Second Vatican Council, the Catechism, and the encyclical letters of John Paul II. I have put together a tentative <a href=\"https:\/\/www.doxaweb.com\/tob\/hollywood\/assets\/syllabus.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>syllabus<\/strong><\/a> for the course, and would be interested in feedback from those of you who are familiar with TOB, or Hollywood, or (even better) both!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright size-large is-resized\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/doxaweb.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/sistene.jpeg?resize=362%2C362&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5707\" width=\"362\" height=\"362\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/doxaweb.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/sistene.jpeg?w=612&amp;ssl=1 612w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/doxaweb.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/sistene.jpeg?resize=300%2C300&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/doxaweb.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/sistene.jpeg?resize=150%2C150&amp;ssl=1 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 362px) 100vw, 362px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>I&#8217;m very excited about this, because I think that a renewed appreciation of the human person \u2013 and, in particular, the human body \u2013 is something the entertainment industry needs. It&#8217;s something that even many Christians don&#8217;t seem to understand in any kind of integrated way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So if you would, please pray for those of us who will be gathering at Family Theater, as we strive to come to a deeper vision of the universal human vocation to give God glory by being fully alive (to borrow an idea from <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.theopedia.com\/irenaeus\">Saint Irenaeus<\/a><\/strong>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The seminars will be held at Family Theater headquarters on Sunset Boulevard, right in the heart of it all. So on one side of the street is a club advertising nude dancing.
