{"id":5614,"date":"2022-04-02T13:03:09","date_gmt":"2022-04-02T18:03:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/doxaweb.com\/blog\/?p=5614"},"modified":"2022-04-02T13:26:16","modified_gmt":"2022-04-02T18:26:16","slug":"stations-of-the-cross-hike-on-palm-sunday","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/doxaweb.com\/blog\/2022\/04\/02\/stations-of-the-cross-hike-on-palm-sunday\/","title":{"rendered":"stations of the cross hike on Palm Sunday"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/doxaweb.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/mater-dolorosa.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/doxaweb.files.wordpress.com\/2015\/09\/mater-dolorosa.jpg?w=204\" alt=\"Mary at the foot of the Cross\" class=\"wp-image-3262\"\/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>I will be leading a Stations of the Cross hike beginning at <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/maps\/GGpJ8QyHucNRUycE8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Shady Oak Lake Cemetery<\/a><\/strong> and ending at <a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/maps\/8mpqFLE5DDfTm9897\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Saint Margaret&#8217;s Cemetery<\/strong><\/a> in Minnetonka on Palm Sunday (April 10).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are in the Twin Cities, you are welcome to join me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here are the details:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>WHEN:<\/strong> Sunday, April 10, 2022 &#8211; 3 pm<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>WHERE:<\/strong> Meet at the entrance to <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/maps\/GGpJ8QyHucNRUycE8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Shady Oak Lake Cemetery<\/a><\/strong> (best parking is at Lone Lake Park adjacent to the entrance: 5624 Shady Oak Rd, Minnetonka, MN 55343).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>WHAT:&nbsp;<\/strong> Praying the Stations of the Cross. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/doxaweb.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/stations_of_cross.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Click here to download\/print the prayers<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/strong>I will have paper copies of the prayers on hand also.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>FORMAT:&nbsp;<\/strong> The hike will be somewhere between 1.5 &#8211; 2 miles in total, passing through Shady Oak Lake Cemetery and then following a trail loop in adjacent Lone Lake Park and finally walking a block down Shady Oak Road to Saint Margaret&#8217;s Cemetery. Between each station, we&#8217;ll walk and pray in silence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>THE TRAIL:<\/strong> Some of the hike will be on pavement, but other portions are on gravel and dirt surfaces, so hiking boots or other walking shoes with some water resistance would be a good idea, especially given that the ground is still thawing in April and there&#8217;s a chance of rain earlier in the week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>HOW LONG:<\/strong> I expect that the entire hike, including the stations, will last about 90 minutes. When the hike is over, anyone is welcome to join me for dinner at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scoreboardmn.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Scoreboard Bar and Grill<\/strong><\/a>, which is just a few steps away from where the hike will end.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I will be leading a Stations of the Cross hike in Minnetonka, MN on Palm Sunday (April 10).
