purple veins in
tight fists,
tight,
the size of my thumb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

No sounds
just squirming.
Beautiful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let\u2019s sit down
sit down.
Head is resting right, I think.
Looks happy \u2013
I wonder if his eyes will open soon…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Susan\u2019s nose on his face,
her chin too,
chin…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That noise \u2013
the door \u2013
Nurse\u2019s head disappears
behind closing door.
Must\u2019ve been sleeping \u2013
Susan still is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wonder when he\u2019ll first open his eyes
and see Dad.
I\u2019m Dad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not quite ready \u2013
a baby of a Dad
but so was mine
when I was born.
My Dad will help
he always has
like the time with the wheelbarrow \u2013
I was eight.
Too heavy \u2013
but Dad took one handle,

hitting my arm.
