Common ground on abortion? Really?
Hi apocalypse,
I knew you’d eventually arrive on my blog. 😉
I’m not sure what you’re referencing with the comment about common ground. Please say more.
There is no common ground with those who support abortion. It is non negotiable. Nothing to talk about.
It’s one thing to say that abortion is always and everywhere evil. That I would agree with.
It is another thing to say that there’s no point in having a conversation with those who disagree with us about abortion. I don’t believe that.
The common ground we share with our interlocutors includes a human nature, a rational faculty, human experiences, and a desire for truth. This common ground is not insignificant as the basis for conversation and appeals to persuade.
