Papa,

When I met you at a Sunday Mass at Castel Gandalfo on September 1, 1996, as a seminarian from the United States, I only had the time to share with you four words: “I love you, Papa.”

Many times since that day I have lifted my heart to God in thanks for your priesthood and your leadership. And many times I have re-lived my meeting with you in my mind and heart, especially in difficult moments, when obedience, faith and hope seem most difficult.

I am no longer a seminarian, but am hoping to serve the Church through a career as a writer of film for Hollywood, and I am also helping to build a website exclusively for Catholic priests.

For you there will always be a special place in my heart.

Please pray for me. I pray for you every day, with my life.
